Our team of licensed occupational therapists are dedicated healthcare professionals who assess and address impairments that impact a child’s ability to function effectively in their home, school, and community environments. Our occupational therapists focus on helping children achieve daily living activities and enhance their self-help skills. They work to restore and enhance fine motor abilities, coordination, and balance. Additionally, they assist with adapting to the child’s environment by providing support in sensory integration, activities of daily living (ADL) training, and reflex integration.
The treatment of Occupational Therapy helps children engage in activities of daily living that have personal meaning and value. It helps to develop, improve, sustain, or restore independence to any child who has an injury, illness, disability or psychological dysfunction.
If you observe your child facing challenges with daily activities, such as engaging with age-appropriate toys, managing loud noises, dressing, writing, using scissors, fastening buttons, eating with utensils, maintaining personal hygiene, or tolerating grooming activities like haircuts and nail trimming, we provide assessments and solutions to help identify and address these difficulties effectively.
If your child has special needs or challenges that limit their ability to perform tasks related to daily living, they may benefit from an occupational therapy evaluation. Does your child have difficulty writing or using utensils, problems with tasks related to getting dressed such as buttoning buttons, tying shoes, zipping and unzipping clothing, or challenges involving attention, following directions, and/or transitioning between activities? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then your child may benefit from occupational therapy.
